In-home Newborn Photo Session

One of my favorite things about my job is that it's so much more than just a job. I get to witness the most precious moments and love between a family. I get to capture pivotal chapters in their life that they'll always look back on. Most of all, I get to connect with beautiful people and make friendships that mean the world to me. It really is so special. That’s exactly what this newborn photoshoot was that I did for Maggie and her family.

About the Family

Maggie and her family were always a source of inspiration for me. I first met her at a motherhood retreat hosted by Jodi Lynn Photography a few years back. Her family was one of the model families for the retreat for the Newborn Session. She just had her second baby and I was in awe of how they interacted with each other. They were so loving and kind, and it was evident that they had a strong bond.

We have kept in touch ever since the retreat. I was grateful when she asked me to capture their family moments just two weeks before I gave birth to my youngest, Lincoln. I will never forget the conversation we had at that time. I had shared with her that I was feeling anxious about giving birth, even though it was my third labor. But, being a baby nurse, Maggie was a source of comfort and encouragement for me. Her words of kindness helped me get through the labor process. It was just what I needed to waive away the stress.

This year, I had the honor to capture their beautiful moments once more in a newborn photoshoot. They had another addition to their family. This time, they were a family of five, and my heart was completely melted by the love they shared. It was evident that they were all so happy to be together, and I couldn't have been happier for them.

In-Home Newborn Photoshoot

As I captured their sweetest moments together, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the beautiful blessings that filled their lives. Maggie and her family were a reminder that love and kindness can go a long way, and I was lucky to witness these blessings upon blessings.

Maggie has two boys and was celebrating the birth of her daughter. We did the newborn photoshoot in her beautiful home in Loomis, Placer county. It was touching to see the whole family interact. Their dynamic was so natural and cohesive. Seeing the young boys embrace their new sister just made my heart melt. I love being able to witness parents welcome a new member of their family because no matter how many kids they have, that unbreakable love and bond is awakened once again.

In-home sessions are always so meaningful because you and your family are in your comfortable space. You are in the very home that you created and live together each and every day. It's very different from being at a location and posing. In the home, I like to capture you just being natural and in your own element. This always turns out to be the most beautiful.
